A full-day activity aimed to discover an area of Lake Maggiore and the cute village of Verbania-Pallanza and its jewels: the so-called Museo del Paesaggio (the Landscape Museum) and Villa Taranto, considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy. You will have the chance to discover the cute lakeside village and to relax during the transfer back to Stresa or Baveno by ferry-boat
Your will meet your private licensed tour guide either at Stresa or at Baveno. After the transfer to Verbania Pallanza by private car/minivan, you will enjoy an interesting guided visit to the “Museo del Paesaggio” (The Landscape Museum), at Verbania Pallanza, which keeps a rich collection of paintings, above all made between the second half XIX and early XX centuries. They are illustrative of art tendencies such as Romanticism, Realism, Pointillism, Symbolism, Scapigliatura (late 19th Century Milanese cultural movement) and they often portray the lake and the montainous landscape of Verbano as well as of the surrounding area. The Troubetzkoy collection of plaster casts, is outstanding in the sculpture section.
Then, time at your disposal for a nice walk along the lake promenade and individual lunch.
In the afternoon a pleasant walk to get to Villa Taranto (1.5 km about). Here you will be struck by the beauty of its botanical gardens, which extend as far as 18 ectars about on the promontory of Castagnola. They were planned by the Scottish captain Neil McEachman between 1931 and 1940 and they are rich in exotic plants and rare species. The gardens are famous for their big rhododendrons but there is also an interesting vegetation all over the year. A privare guided tour will give you all the information and anectodes about that “paradise”.
In order to enjoy the lake from another panoramic point of view, you will come back to Stresa or Baveno by public ferry.
The meeting point with the tourist guide or the private driver will usually take place in the lobby of the Client’s hotel if it is in THE HISTORICAL CENTRE OF THE CITY WHERE THE TOUR STARTS. Please, let us know the name of your hotel.
In case the Client’s accommodation is distant from the historical centers or if you come from other departure places, different meeting points will be communicated after the confirmation of the tour.
Semi-private tour
In case of cancellation of the reservation made by the buyer on the site, Travel-Lab/BookYourItaly will apply the following terms:
• Up to 21 working days prior to the start of the activity: full refund of the service paid by the buyer;
• From 20 to 10 working days prior to the start of the activity: 50% refund of the price paid;
• From 9 to 0 days prior to the beginning of the activity or non-use by the buyer of the service: no refund.
For counting the days the following rules apply:
• The day of the activity is not counted;
• The days begin at 00.00 and end at 24.00 hours in the time zone in force in Italy (GMT +1).
The reimbursement by Travel-Lab/BookYourItaly will be made within 30 working days by crediting the credit card used.
